The type of cargo is a preselction of weight per TEU (light weight = 6 t/TEU; average weight = 10.5 t/TEU; heavy goods = 14.5 t/TEU). The amount of TEU and the load-weight determines the gross weight and thus influences the emissions on the pre- and on-carriage by truck, train and plane.
