Projekt Partners

The Institute for Energy and Environmental Research (ifeu), Heidelberg, and the Rail Management Consultants GmbH (RMCon), have developed EcoTransIT as an objective tool to quantify emissions from freight transport. This Project was initiated by a number of European railway companies in 2000, and more railway companies have subsequently joined. Being in charge of data collection and external communication the International Union of Railways (UIC) is a special partner and mentor of EcoTransIT. The UIC is the world-wide umbrella for international cooperation among railways and the promotion of the benefits of railway systems.
