On 5th of October of 2010 the 1st EcoTransIT Stakeholder Workshop took place in Paris. More than 100 participants representing the whole transport sector – logistics companies, shippers, forwarders, air, ocean and land carriers, scientific and non-governmental organisations – attended the meeting. They actively shared the discussion on needs and benefits of a reliable and easy-to-use carbon calculator for global supply chains. Keynote speeches from United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), European Environment Agency (EEA) and the EU project SuperGREEN welcomed the EcoTransIT initiative and highlighted their views on carbon footprinting as steps towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions. In the end it was common sense to continue the dialogue and intensify cooperation.
