What is EcoTransIT?
The Ecological Transport Information Tool (EcoTransIT) calculates environmental impacts of any freight transport. Thereby it is possible to determine the energy consumption, CO2 and exhaust emissions transported by rail, road, ship and aircraft in any combination. Now: EcoTransIT World
EcoTransIT World is the recent success of the ten-year development history of EcoTransIT. The new version calculates worldwide environmental impacts for the first time. This is possible due to a complete redesigning of the input method, calculation algorithm, GIS-data and calculation basis. Data and methodology are on scientific foundation and transparent for all users. EcoTransIT fullfills for that reason the precondition for a standard tool for the worldwide calculation of CO2-foot prints and environmental impacts.
